About Us
We are a 501 (c) (3)nonprofit organization in Montgomery County, Texas. Our mission is to recruit, train and support community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children who have been removed from their parents and are under the Court's jurisdiction.
Although we are a member of the National CASA organization, each individual CASA entity is responsible for raising sufficient funds to support our mission in Montgomery County, Texas.
We have a small, permanent staff based in Conroe whose primary role is to recruit, train and support volunteers who advocate for children and also volunteers who fundraise for the organization.
Today, the majority of our funds are raised through donations from special events such as our annual gala, private donations and business contributions. A smaller percentage come from grants and foundations.
Our financial goal is to better balance our sources of fundraising and lessen our reliance on one event for a large portion of our annual funds. We need to raise money in a more predictable manner to fund the appropriate organization to support enough volunteer advocates to give ' a voice' to each child coming under the Court's jurisdiction.
This year our focus is on improving
- our communication with our donors and the community
- the overall efficiency of the operation
Every dollar donated is accounted for and used wisely to fund the advocates and infrastructure necessary to support them.
This month, with the help of our volunteers and staff, we have launched our new website, implemented an online donation capability and we are in the process of implementing a donor management system. These development initiatives will provide the platforms necessary to achieve our goals.
