Program Activity:

With summer in full swing, CASA Advocates stepped in to help 56 new children who were removed frome their homes during the months of May and June.  this represents 89% of the total number of children removed during this period.  119 advocates were assigned to cases as of July 1, 2011.  From September 2010, we have served 567 children....an amazing group of volunteers.

7 CASA children were adopted during May and June, while 14 were reunified with their families, and 15 were placed with relatives or fictive kin. 

6 new advocates joined the CASA family in May: Joe Luis Garcia, Susan Hoppe, Joy Leggett, Brenda Schmidt, Jennifer Sunday and Heather Vaughn.  All have accepted their first cases!! 

CASA Events:

On June 29, 2011, Michael Migura from Star Health presented an overview of this Medicaid managed health-care program which provides medical, behavioral health, dental and vision care to the children in DFPS conservator ship. This presentation is part of our on-going In-Service Training that may be used to complete your annual 12 hours of continuing education credit.  Please click on In-Service Training for additional opportunities and upcoming presentations

Closed Cases:

Mary Beth Nouges, Marianne Emanuele, Paula Caldwell, Virginia Huey, Laurie Schoepf, Angela and Curtis Troth, John Wigenback, Tom Watt, Melissa Kane, Betty Falls, Jane Funke, Lyndon Wright, and Katie Waller all had cases successfully close!!!!
