CASA Child Advocates Speak Up at the Capitol

Jane Funke, Murray Batt, Wanda Smith, and Mark Goerlitz from CASA of Montgomery County participated in the CASA Day at the Capitol 2011, organized by our state association, Texas CASA. The day was cold, but a huge success nevertheless! Thank you to everyone from CASA of Montgomery County who attended and spoke to our legislators about making abused and neglected children a priority this session!

We are grateful to have been met with strong support and appreciation from the members of the Travis County legislative delegation. We were proud to be part of a very powerful showing from 350 CASA representatives from across the State and to receive official recognition from both the Texas House and the Texas Senate. Right now, we are most concerned about the serious cuts proposed to CPS funding. These cuts endanger children. Make your voice heard by writing your legislators today and ask that they make abused and neglected children a priority this session.
