We know that you have a choice when selecting a worthy cause to become involved with and support.  We hope that once you have toured our website you will understand why CASA plays such a fundamental role for children by ensuring that every child has the right to learn, grow and be treated with dignity and respect.  Here are some other reasons we hope will help you consider CASA your worthy cause.  Click here to learn more on Ways to Give.

Your Donation Will Make a Difference!!

Your tax-deductible donation will allow you to be a part of the CASA mission to recruit,  train and support community volunteers who advocate for vulnerable children under the court's jurisdiction.  With commitment and compassion, CASA Advocates serve in the critical role as a powerful voice in court.  They are dedicated to addressing the needs of abused and neglected children.  Most important, they often become the one consistent adult in the lives of these children.  Your donation makes this possible.  Click here to Donate Now.

Who Are CASA Children?
Children of all ages, races, and socio-economic backgrounds who have suffered the pain of abuse or neglect.  They are newborn babies who are born positive for amphetamines; they are teenagers whose parents have given up on them; they are school-aged children who come to school without having bathed or eaten a solid meal in several days.  Besides all of this, they are still children who have a twinkle in their eye, a funny little grin an incredible potential.

Who Are CASA Volunteers?
CASA volunteers are your neighbors, business associates, friends of a friend, grandparents and probably someone just like you.  Every volunteer completes a pre-service training program and passes both a criminal and DFPS background check.  Upon completion of their training, they are sworn in as a Guardian Ad-litem by a judge.  They all lead busy lives but still make time to volunteer as Court Appointed Special Advocates and make a direct impact on the lives of abused and neglected children.

Why CASA?

  • Children with a CASA volunteer are substantially less likely to spend time in long-term (more than three years) foster care: 13% for CASA cases verses 27% of all children in foster care.
  • Cases involving a CASA volunteer are more likely to be "permanently closed" and the children are less likely to re-enter the child welfare system than cases where a CASA Advocate is not involved.  Just 9% of CASA children re-enter the system in contrast to 16% for children who were not served.
  • CASA Advocates are highly effective in getting their recommendations accepted in court.  Their reports lead to a higher number of desperately needed services delivered to these children.
  • CASA volunteers make sure that the abuse and neglect that the children originally suffered at home does not continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the "system".
  • With CASA's help, more than 2 million children across the country have found their way to a safe home
  • CASA Child Advocates is part of a national organization with a network of 1,055 programs.
