Becoming an Advocate is not for everyone, yet there are many ways you can help a child indirectly by using your time and your talent to raise money to support those who do advocate.
Fundraising and Event Management
CASA Montgomery County operation is a little unique in that we established a volunteer group called CHAMPs – Champions for children who understand that Children have to be our Priority.
The CHAMPS volunteers work together to organize and manage fundraising events such as the annual gala, the golf, the picnic etc. Anyone in our community can develop a fund raising idea. All you need to do is present that idea to the CHAMPS Board and work with the Board to prioritize, fund and staff the activity. Once the Board has approved the event, then the volunteers pitch in and help where needed.

Development Board
The Development Board is a subcommittee of the CASA Board charged with the mission of collaboratively developing and implementing fundraising initiatives which result in balanced, sustainable revenue streams to support CASA’s goal of one Child Advocate per case.
The Development Board is led by Bill Friebel and comprises of Board members and subject matter experts, all of whom are volunteers and members of the CASA Staff. The Board meets monthly to review the implementation of the Development initiatives which are planned each year in support of the overall business plan and strategic goals.
Today we are actively looking for volunteers to perform the following roles:
- Grant writers
- Business Relationship Managers
- Public Relations Manager
- Web Content writers
- IT Specialist
- Marketing campaign specialist
- Donor database manager to keep donor information current

From time to time Board positions become available. Our current Treasurer is taking on the Vice Chairperson role and we are therefore looking for suitably qualified Treasurer to take her place.
