Message from CEO, Nancy Harris

Nancy Harris - CEO of CASA Montgomery County TexasTogether for Children

It takes only one person to hurt a child.  It requires an entire community to put that child back together.  After touching the lives of more than five-thousand (5,000) children since 1992, our mission at Child Advocates of Montgomery County, Inc. remains steadfast.

We came together as a volunteer-driven program to provide a voice for abused and neglected children. It is a voice that continues to gain strength because of our growing list of community partnerships, collaborations, volunteers and supporters.

There will be a 5K run/walk and a 1K kids fun run, plus fun nature discovery activities for the whole family. If you are lucky you might see a Red Cockadeed Woodpecker, an endangered species, that makes their home in Jones Forest.

Abuse and Neglect in Our Own Backyard.....an Advocate's perspective

Many people in our community are not aware of the number and type of cases of child abuse and neglect in Montgomery County, TX. They are not aware of CASA Child Advocates or what the people in this organization do to stop the cycle of abuse.

I was first made aware of Child Advocates when I spotted a billboard calling for Part-Time Heroes to speak up for abused and neglected children. I had recently left a senior job in a large corporation to strike out on my own. This seemed a perfect time to make that phone call and find out what I could do to help.

Message from the Chairman, Bob Craig

Board Chairman Bob CraigHave you ever heard the statement, "She has a Million-Dollar smile?"

Even today, with the devaluation of the dollar and the general economic crisis, it is generally a compliment to analogize something to a million dollars. Well I am here to tell you that I am proud to serve CASA, Child Advocates of Montgomery County. We do wonderful things for children who need to have wonderful things done for them, and we do that with amazing advocate volunteers led by our small, but dedicated, staff of exceptional professionals.
